Shark Attacks

Shark attacks are a very rare event that capture a large amount of media attention. Rates of shark attacks are also not static; both the number of people and sharks in the water are constantly changing variables, neither of which are estimated well. In collaboration with George Burgess and his team, we comprehensively and quantitatively reviewed of rates of shark attacks across the world over the last 50 years. We are currently investigating additional questions linking shark attacks to environmental conditions.
